Outdoor connectivity has become a critical requirement across multiple industries. Hotels, resorts, industrial parks, tourist areas, educational campuses, and ISP deployments all demand reliable, secure, and easy-to-manage network infrastructure, even under extreme environmental conditions.

In this context, the Grandstream GWN7710R Series stands out as a strategic solution for integrators, service providers, and channel partners looking to elevate their outdoor networking projects.

The GWN7710R is a Layer 2 Lite managed outdoor switch, built with a professional-grade IP66-rated enclosure that protects against dust, water, rain, snow, and extreme temperatures. With an operating range from -40°C to 60°C, it delivers consistent performance in the most demanding environments.

Flexible PoE for modern outdoor deployments

Equipped with 5 Gigabit RJ45 ports and 1 SFP port, the GWN7710R enables efficient access and distribution network designs:

  • 4 PoE output ports and 1 PoE input port

  • Up to 60W on port 1 and up to 30W on ports 2–4

  • Support for IEEE 802.3af/at as well as 24V / 48V DC

  • PoE++ input and DC power, ideal for solar-powered systems and cascaded deployments

This flexibility allows integrators to directly power outdoor Wi-Fi access points, IP surveillance cameras, and other network devices without additional electrical infrastructure.

Security, traffic segmentation, and performance optimization

The GWN7710R includes advanced switching features that enhance outdoor network reliability:

  • Port-based VLAN and 802.1Q VLAN, for flexible traffic segmentation

  • Voice VLAN, ensuring high-quality VoIP communications

  • QoS with DSCP / 802.1p, prioritizing critical traffic

  • DHCP Snooping, protecting against unauthorized DHCP servers

  • STP/RSTP, ensuring fast convergence, redundancy, and network stability

  • Bandwidth control and storm control, improving overall network performance

Additionally, the switch maintains PoE power during reboots, preventing interruptions to critical services such as video surveillance.

Centralized management and real-time visibility

The GWN7710R can be easily managed through multiple platforms:

  • Local web interface

  • GWN Manager (on-premise)

  • GDMS Networking (cloud-based)

It also provides real-time PoE power monitoring, enabling proactive maintenance and faster issue detection.

Seamless integration with the Grandstream ecosystem

A key advantage of the GWN7710R is its native integration with other Grandstream solutions, allowing true end-to-end deployments:

  • GWN outdoor Wi-Fi access points

  • IP video surveillance cameras

  • VoIP solutions, enhanced through Voice VLAN and QoS

This ecosystem approach reduces deployment complexity, shortens installation time, and increases project profitability for integrators and ISPs.

Key deployment scenarios

🔹 Hotels and resorts
Outdoor Wi-Fi coverage across gardens, pools, and common areas, with IP cameras powered via PoE and long-distance connectivity through the SFP fiber port.

🔹 Tourist areas and public parks
Pole-mounted installations with solar power, where the GWN7710R receives DC or PoE++ input and distributes connectivity without relying on the electrical grid.

🔹 Restaurants and outdoor dining areas
VLAN-based segmentation to separate guest, operations, and surveillance networks, ensuring security and performance.

🔹 ISP and WISP deployments
Network expansion in rural or remote areas, combining fiber uplinks and PoE-powered outdoor devices for reliable connectivity.

A strategic platform for integrators and channels

The GWN7710R Series is more than just an outdoor switch. It is a business enabler, allowing integrators and channel partners to deliver scalable, secure, and energy-efficient outdoor networks, backed by centralized management and a complete Grandstream ecosystem.
