Ideal Gold Vista (IGV) is a prominent, high-rise mixed-use development in Karachi developed by the Ideal Group.
Positioned as District Central’s tallest landmark, the project pairs a multi-level shopping complex at its base
with luxury residential floors offering 2, 3, and 4-bedroom apartments. Engineered with earthquake-resistant
infrastructure, IGV was designed around a lifestyle-oriented concept, with amenities that include an infinity
swimming pool, a padel court, a gymnasium, a rooftop BBQ area, a dining and coffee corner, a kids’ play area, a
prayer area, a laundry facility, an EV charging station, a convention centre, dedicated parking, and 24/7 security
surveillance.

The Challenge

As a newly constructed property, Ideal Gold Vista had no legacy communications system to migrate from, but it
did have a demanding brief. The development needed a unified solution capable of connecting 100 apartments,
multiple building entrances, reception and security checkpoints, along with a wide range of recreational and
common-area facilities. The solution also needed to provide centralized management, redundancy, and consistent
performance across both indoor and outdoor environments. The project called for centralized IP telephony,
video intercom for visitor management, apartment-level networking, PoE switching, a fiber backbone, and
high-performance Wi-Fi that could reach every part of the property from underground parking to the rooftop.

The Solution

Wateen Telecom designed and deployed a comprehensive Grandstream ecosystem covering 100 apartments,
entrances, common areas, and recreational facilities at Ideal Gold Vista.

Centralized Communication & Video Intercom System
Grandstream’s UCM6308 units were configured in high availability to form a resilient, centralized IP
communications platform supporting IP phones, video intercoms, and SIP-based devices throughout the building.
The GSC3610 cameras were positioned at selected entrances and critical locations for visual monitoring and
integrated with the wider communication ecosystem, while two GDS3710 video door stations were installed
at major entrances to enable visitor identification, two-way video communication, and controlled entry. At the
apartment level, 100 GSC3570 indoor video intercom stations — one per unit — gave every resident the ability
to receive calls and see who is at the door.

IP Telephony Deployment
The GXV3450 IP video phones were placed at the reception desk and security/management points for advanced
voice and video communication, along with 30 GRP2603P phones that were deployed across reception, security,
administration, maintenance, and management areas for day-to-day communication. Grandstream’s GHP610
hospitality IP phones were deployed in selected operational areas, including the lobby, parking, and service
points, providing simple, reliable voice communication.

Switching & Fiber Backbone
The GWN7813P PoE switches formed the access-layer infrastructure, powering and connecting IP phones,
intercoms, access points, and other endpoint devices, while the GWN7831 SFP switches established the fiberbased
backbone linking the core network to apartment-level and access-layer networks for high-speed and
reliable data transmission. At the apartment level, 100 GWN7801P switches (one per unit) provided managed
PoE connectivity for each apartment’s GSC3570 intercom, router, and other wired devices.

Apartment Networking & Wi-Fi Setup
The GWN7062E routers paired with the GWN7660EM access points delivered dedicated routing and mesh
Wi-Fi coverage for the larger apartments, while the GWN7052 routers provided routing, internet access, and
wireless connectivity for the smaller apartments.

Common-Area & High-Capacity Wi-Fi Connectivity
Grandstream’s GWN7660E access points delivered wireless coverage across the lobby, padel court, dining and
coffee corner, kids’ area, prayer area, laundry, EV charging zone, and dedicated parking. The GWN7660ELR units
extended coverage across more challenging and spacious environments such as the gymnasium, swimming
pool, and rooftop. The GWN7664E high-capacity Wi-Fi 6 access points were deployed in the convention
center, at the main gate, and other high-density open areas. Across the entire property, Grandstream’s
free GDMS platform provided centralized cloud management for the full Grandstream deployment

Why Grandstream

Wateen Telecom chose Grandstream because it was the only vendor able to provide a complete, end-to-end
communication and networking solution from a single technology provider. No competitor brands offered an
equivalent portfolio spanning IP telephony, video intercom, apartment networking, switching, fiber connectivity,
and Wi-Fi under one platform, making Grandstream the ideal choice over other competing brands.

Seamless compatibility across Grandstream devices simplified system design, installation, configuration and
troubleshooting, and removed the complexity of managing multiple vendors across a property this large.
Centralized management, scalability, strong performance, and flexible deployment options were other strong
factors that made Grandstream the best choice for a residential communication and networking infrastructure
while minimizing potential risks and delays throughout the deployment.

The Results

Deploying Grandstream’s solutions gave Ideal Gold Vista a unified, reliable, and scalable communications
infrastructure across all 100 apartments and shared common facilities. IP-based communication enabled faster
and more flexible voice and video contact between residents, reception, security, and management, while the
GDS3710 and GSC3570 made visitor identification and entrance communication straightforward and secure
for every household.

At the apartment level, the GWN7801P infrastructure delivered organized connectivity for phones, intercoms,
and other PoE devices, and the fiber backbone improved network performance and reliability across the
property. Dedicated apartment routers and mesh Wi-Fi access points improved wireless coverage in individual
units, while strategically placed GWN access points ensured consistent connectivity across the lobby, gymnasium,
swimming pool, rooftop, convention center, parking, and other common areas.

Overall, the single-vendor approach reduced infrastructure complexity and simplified the ongoing network
management and troubleshooting, while building a future-ready residential technology platform that can be
expanded as the property grows.
